Catholic Services
Planning a Catholic funeral involves many details. As Charleston's only Catholic-owned funeral home, we are best equipped to help you navigate the myriad decisions that must be made.
As soon as possible, your funeral director will contact the church and priest to notify them of the death. At that time, we will also inform them what type of Mass you will be planning (traditional burial, traditional service followed by cremation, or service with urn present) and coordinate available dates and times for the Mass.
At the funeral home, we will assist in selecting appropriate readings, music selections, the choice of either a rosary or vigil service the night before the funeral, as well as details with the cemeteries of the Diocese of Charleston.
Important decisions regarding stationery, such as Guest Register and Prayer Cards, will also be discussed at this meeting. For families who have never planned a Catholic funeral, or perhaps who have not been active in church recently, we will go over all specifics regarding the flow of the Mass and the Rite of Committal at the cemetery.
Our firm enjoys a close relationship with the Diocese of Charleston and will do everything possible to make the process of planning a Mass of Christian Burial a smooth one.
