William "Bill" Thaoue became at peace with our Lord and was able to be in the arms of his wife, Ginger, once again. The relatives and friends of Mr. William P. Thaoue are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. At the age of 89, Bill was a World War II veteran, who honored his country serving in the Pacific. He was proud to tell you a lot of history from his days spent aboard the USS Half Moon, a seaplane tender. His stories did not end there; everyone enjoyed time spent with him as he recalled stories from his youth up to present day. Each story reverberated with his love for life and those he chose to spend it with. Following his time in the service he began a career as a painter and was known for his quality work and attention to detail in each job he took. Bill loved Nascar, the Dallas Cowboys and was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge #242. Bill enjoyed the time he was able to spend volunteering for other veterans at the Ralph H. Johnson Veteran's Hospital in Charleston. Mr. Thaoue was born in Daytona Beach, FL on November 7, 1925 a son of Charles Philip Thaoue (Veteran WWI) and Mary Kite Thaoue. He married the love of his life Ginger Elaine Thaoue in April of 1982. Theyspent many years making happy memories together. She passed on to the lord in March of 2011. He is survived by his loving children Marijayne Virginia Sopko (Patrick), James Daniel Thaoue, William Michael King Thaoue, Lynn Jennings (David), Deborah Nolan, Gene Ferree, Karen Conner (Michael) and James Zimmerman; his Grandchildren, Virginia Quinn, Elizabeth Swain (Ron), April Jennings, and Ralph Nolan Jr., Margaret Virginia Hansberger (Aaron), Andrea Jean Sopko, Michelle Vanessa Tennant, Allison Jessica Wiggins (Jacob), Austin James Sopko and his Great Grandchildren, Brittany Tidwell, Bobby Taylor, CJ Swain, Jacob Jennings, Caleb Jennings and Abby Newman, Zoe, Cameron, Arianna, Raven, William & Patrick.
