William Kimbel Scott, 55, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 1, 2017. The relatives and friends of William K. Scott are invited to attend his Liturgy of the Word Service 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Azalea Drive, N. Charleston. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. William was born August 10, 1961, the son of Louis Henry Scott of Chicago, IL and Marjorie Lucille Anders of Hendersonville, NC. He was named after his Uncle Bill Cannon of Detroit Michigan, marine war hero at the battle of Kwajalein. As a boy William enjoyed exploring the creature-filled marshes and woods around the Stono River. His love for exploration led to wanderlust. William began a career in the transportation industry. He eventually became a long haul independent operator. William loved his 18-wheeler and his hobbies included cooking meals for others and studying history. He was particularly knowledgeable of WWII and the European Theater. William is survived by his Brother, Louis Sobieszczyk; 1 nephew and 4 nieces: Troy, Opal, and Becca Sobieszczyk, Diane Steele (Michael) all of Charleston, and Anna Herlocker (Keenan) of North Pole, AK; and great-niece and nephew Dove and Michael Paul Jr. Steele. William is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, and beloved sister Diane M.
