William Francis 'Bill' Farmer

June 9, 1939 — March 31, 2018

William Francis 'Bill' Farmer, 78, of Charleston, husband of Jane Patricia Farmer, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 31, 2018. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Farmer are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1853 Maybank Highway, James Island. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Bill was born June 9, 1939, in Hopkinsville, KY, the son of Raymond A. 'Ted' and Olive Pilkinton Farmer. He was in the United States Navy for 31 years as a Hospital Corpsman Sr. Chief and was in the Merchant Marines as a Nurse for 10 years. Bill was a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 445, Fleet Reserve Association, Disabled American Veterans Association, and a member of the American Legion Post 147.

Bill is survived by his wife Jane, and a sister, Terecia Ann Arneson of Washington, beloved brother-in-law Michael (Sylvia) Snell, and nephew Forrest Snell (Adelina) and their 4 children.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
