Whitney Carolyn Audley

Whitney Carolyn Audley was born on April 26, 1982 at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio and passed into the Lord’s hands at home in West Ashley, Charleston, South Carolina on January 16, 2024 at 4:26 am with her mother and brother, Christopher, by her side.

Whitney was a complex and special person. She had a special place in her heart for animals having had many family pets growing up but she especially loved Buddy I, Buddy II, Boomer and Artemis who were with her most of her life. She also had her own horse while living in Texas, named Amigo, that she loved very much.

Whitney graduated from Quitman High School in Quitman, Texas in 2001. She attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas before relocating to Charleston, South Carolina with her mother in 2003. In Charleston, she earned her certification as a massage therapist and worked as a massage therapist until switching to the retail industry. Ultimately, Whitney earned her current position as a site manager for Extra Space Storage on Ashley River Road, Charleston.

During her free time, Whitney spent time cross stitching, latch hooking and working on Arts and Crafts projects that she gave to her family and friends. Whitney also was a huge fan of going to the movies. If she went to the movies and liked it, the movie would end up in her collection. Her favorite actors were Chuck Norris, Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

While in Texas, Whitney was active in the First Baptist Church and found a second family in the church singles group. She enjoyed listening to Christian Rock music and especially liked the band Skillet. In addition to Christian Rock, she was a fan of country music and held a special appreciation for the early works of Bon Jovi. She also loved anything with Siberian tigers in it.

Whitney was one of the most steadfast, hard working and caring people anyone could have known. When she laughed, her nose would crinkle up. Her smile was infectious.

She is survived by her mother, Kathryn (Charleston, SC); father, David and Jennifer (Cheyenne, WY); brothers, Christopher and Susan (Reading, MA), Daniel (Charlotte, NC) and Thomas (Cheyenne, WY); nephews, Evan and Ryan (Reading, MA); and many loving uncles, aunts, and friends. Family and friends will celebrate her life during a graveside memorial at 1pm on January 23 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston.
