Entered into eternal rest on July 7, 2011, Wesley Fraser Mellard, husband of Doris L. Workman Mellard. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley F. Mellard are invited to attend his Requiem Mass at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the Church of the Holy Communion. Interment, St James Church, Goose Creek. The family will receive friends on Monday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home 1620 Savannah Hwy. Mr. Mellard was born in Charleston on October 3, 1920, a son of John Archibald and Bertha Amelia West Mellard. He graduated from Mitchell Elementary and Murray Vocational High School. Mr. Mellard was an Optical Mechanic at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for many years. He will be remembered as a kind man, content with the life he led, and thankful for the blessings bestowed upon him. Mr. Mellard was a member of the Church of the Holy Communion, lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and the Musician's Union #502. He is survived by his wife, Doris W. Mellard and a Foster Son, Wesley D.
