Viola Griffith Pendarvis, 93, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest March 9, 2017. The relatives and friends of Viola G. Pendarvis are invited to attend her Funeral service at 2:30 PM, Monday, March 13, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, 95 Folly Road. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Sunday, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. Viola was born June 6, 1923 in Wolfe County, KY, to John Breckenridge Griffith and LouCinda Elizabeth Chambers Griffith. She was married to James Smoak Pendarvis, June 9, 1940 until his death April 16, 1996. She is survived by daughters, Mary Lou Wickstrom, Marlene 'Teenie' Jett and Sandra P. Daniels (Tommy); nephew, Alfred L. Crabtree (Charlotte); grandchildren: Gwyn W. Senokossoff, Randleson P. Floyd-Daniels (Alvin), Lili M. Jett, Eric A. Wickstrom (Kim), James P. Daniels (Jennifer), Barry A. Daniels (Dawn), Lisa J. Hobbs (Richard), Abigail W. Vella (Paul), Angel Isla Daniels, T. Barton Daniels; great-grandchildren, Andrew Lightsey, Taylor Wickstrom (Sydney), Vicki Stidham, Cody Hobbs (Brie), Matthew Lightsey, Erica Stidham, Joshua Hobbs, Josh Dean, Courtney Wickstrom, Katherine Vella, Grace Dean, Paul James Vella, Nicholas Hobbs, Ethan Wickstrom, and Thomas Daniels Gangi. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Pendarvis; grandson, Happy Jett; sons-in-law, James Wickstrom and Harry Jett; siblings, Elizabeth Griffith, Joe Griffith, Bill Donald, Pete Good, and Shirley Donald.She retired in 1980 from Sears Roebuck as a division manager. She was very active in her church, Holy Trinity, and various organizations, such as, Elks Does, Charleston Rifle Club and she was an avid golfer. She belonged to Shadowmoss Country Club and her handicap was 10.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 95 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
