Vincent Maiorany

February 10, 1947 — July 18, 2025

Vincent James Maiorany, aged 78, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. Born on February 10, 1947, in Arlington, Virginia, Vincent was a dedicated law enforcement professional and a loving family man. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1978, with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and criminology, laying the foundation for a distinguished career that spanned over three decades. Vincent began his journey in law enforcement as an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., from 1967 to 1974, before dedicating the rest of his career with the federal government, starting as a Physical Training Instructor and progressing to a Special Agent for the Department of Justice.

Outside of his professional commitments, Vincent had a passion for antiquing, always in search of the oldest and most unique pieces he could find. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and took pride in keeping his possessions in pristine condition. A lover of Motown music and classic movies, he often found joy in sharing the timeless sounds and stories of the past. Above all, Vincent was profoundly devoted father and grandfather, frequently expressing his love for his daughters and granddaughters.

Vincent is survived by his daughters, Christy Walker (Marty) of Charleston, SC and Jen Maiorany (Pamela James) of Tucson, AZ; his brother, Tom Maiorany of Temple Hills, MD, former spouse, Liz Maiorany of Charleston, SC, and his cherished granddaughters, Ava and Presley Walker. Vincent was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vincent and Mary Maiorany, and his sister, Ellen Fisk.

Vincent's life will be remembered for his dedication to service, love for family, and the joy he found in his passions. His remains will be cremated, and he will be honored by family and friends at a private gathering, as they reflect on the cherished memories he left behind.

The family would like to express a special, heartfelt thank you to Vincent's caregiver, Sissy Bedenbaugh, Hospice nurse, Noe Solis with Gentiva Hospice, and the staff at Harmony at West Ashley for their love and care.

Memorial donations can be made in Vincent's memory to The Gentiva Foundation or your local Habitat for Humanity.
