On Thursday, April 13, 2023, the Hayes family lost their hero in a tragic accident around Park Circle in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Victor was the youngest of five children that grew up in the South Carolina Lowcountry. He attended Bishop England High School, where he excelled in both athletics and academics, and met the love of his life, Angie. Soon after, they started a young family, and shared more than 40 years together after a flirty sand fight on Morris Island.
He was a man of strong moral character, a mentor to many, and devoted to family above all else. He led by example and brought out the best in those around him. His positive attitude and outlook were shared and cherished by many. The joy and light he brought to this world will be deeply missed.
Victor had many titles and accomplishments in his life, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, adult children, and grandchildren. Whether he was coaching them on the field or guiding them through life. He was always there to offer his love, support, and encouragement.
Victor's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife Angie Hayes; his eldest daughter Victoria Hayes, his son Josh Hayes; granddaughter Teagyn Hayes, his son Jon Hayes and wife Lauren Hayes; granddaughters and grandson Lillian Jean Hayes, Lucielle Mae Hayes, and Lucas Coleman Hayes. His sister Dolores and husband Joe Lott; nieces Karrie Powell; Hayden Presley, Baylor Presley, Paxtyn Presley, and Paysley Presley and Tara Powell. His Brother-in-law Chris Conley and wife Younga Conley; Tony Conley, his brother-in-law Paul Conley and wife Kim Conley; Shaun Robison and Amber Tallent-Goss, his sister-in-law Michelle McLaughlin and husband Preston; Patrick McLaughlin and wife Chloe, and Brendan McLaughlin, his sister-in-law Audrey Anderson; Nathaniel Anderson and wife Therese Anderson, Payton Anderson and wife Marie Anderson, Allyson Anderson, Katelyn and husband Joesph, and Noah Anderson.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, John Russell and Betty Jean Lay Hayes, eldest brothers John David Hayes, Mark Lay Hayes, and sister Sharon Rose Hayes. He will be met by his most loyal companion Liebe Hayes; Weimaraner.
