Born on September 28, 1932, in Paterson, New Jersey, he touched the lives of many throughout his journey.

Val proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting on June 1, 1951, and attaining the distinguished rank of Master Sergeant before his retirement on June 1, 1971. During his 20 years he saw much of the world including the Philippines, Thailand, England, India, and several places in the US, including San Antonio where he was a volunteer to ride the centrifuge testing for the F-15. He was also stationed in Charleston, SC where he met his beloved Barbara, and they were married in 1955 at Blessed Sacrament Church. They were together for just shy of 63 years when she passed away. His dedication to service was matched only by his love for his family, which included his two devoted daughters, Eileen Heider and Valerie Tyler. He was also a devoted grandfather, taking joy in every moment spent with his grandchildren and sharing stories of his life adventures.

After he retired from the Air Force, Val worked at the Charleston Naval Base Security Department for 17 years, achieving the title of Assistant Security Director, prior to his retirement in 1987. He then went on to enjoy is real love of playing golf. Eventually he took a job as a ranger at Shadowmoss Golf Club. He worked and played there for several years before he decided to just stay home and take it easy.

A man of quiet demeanor, Val was known for his kindness and wicked sense of humor. As a Roman Catholic, he found comfort and strength in his faith, which guided him throughout his life.

As we remember Valentine Joseph Lindsay, we honor a life filled with service, love, and an unwavering commitment to family and faith. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
