Tina Marie Hess Carter-Salter, 52, of Charleston, SC, loving wife to Christopher Wade Salter Sr. passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018. She was called to Heaven surrounded by the love and compassion of family and friends.
The relatives and friends of Tina Carter-Salter are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 6:00 PM Friday, February 23, 2018 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be private.
Tina was born on December 28, 1965, in Charleston, SC, daughter of Eugene Charles Hess and Patricia Ann Ray Hess. She grew up the middle child, with an older sister, Anna Mae Hess Van Dyke, and a younger brother, Jason Hess. She attended St. John's Catholic School and went on to work in the medical field as a phlebotomist and then as a pediatric nurse. Tina was loved by all of her co-workers and patients, bringing joy to everyone she met. She was best known for her loving nature, sweet words and beautiful smile. Tina enjoyed spending her time with family and friends, doting on her children.
Tina Marie Hess married Michael Wayne Carter on April 13, 1986. They had three children, Corey, Lauren and Tyler. They were married for 18 years. Tina married Christopher Wade Salter Sr. on October 7, 2012. Tina is survived by her family; son Michael Corey Carter (his fiancé Lawren Zobel), daughter Jessica Lauren Carter, son, Christopher Tyler Carter and their father Michael Wayne Carter; husband Christopher Wade Salter Sr. and sons Christopher Jr and Kyle Salter; sister Anna Mae Hess Van Dyke, niece Nichole Miller and great-niece Brianna Mae Miller, nephew Dillon Ray; aunt Kathleen Malia and her husband Joseph, uncle David Hess and his wife Marlene; uncle Tony Ray and his wife Glenda; her great-aunt Dolores; her loving cousins Mary, Billy, David, Donna, Cathy.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Patricia Hess; grandparents Clayton and Mary Ray; grandparents Floyd and Anna Mae Hess; aunt Betty and her husband Dave Monks; aunt Beatrice Rizzo; and uncle James Hess.
