Timothy Dwayne Linker, age 63 of Charleston SC, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was born on April 30, 1958 to late Glenn and Jeannette Linker. He is survived by his brothers Ricky Linker and Chris Linker (wife Alicia) and sister Cynthia Sunde as well as his nieces Milena Clemson, Bree Linker and Kali Sunde and his nephew Hunt Linker.

Timmy graduated from the College of Charleston and while he worked several jobs over the years, his true passion was working with the lowcountry youth through baseball, basketball and football.

Timmy was a volunteer coach at St. Andrews Parks and Playground for 40+ years, as well as working with both St. Andrew’s High School and the current West Ashley High School. He held many roles at each – Athletic Director, Scorekeeper, Announcer, Umpire/Referee - and loved every minute of his time on the field/court. Over the years, the youth he had the pleasure to coach have become coaches themselves, quoting Timmy as their inspiration.

Timmy loved his church, St. Mark United Methodist, and his church family. He was a member of the men’s club, a youth leader and a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. His love of sports overflowed to the church as he coached the youth and men’s basketball teams for many years.

Timmy was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor and a lover of all animals, especially his two dogs Ally and Ace. His kind heart seen in everything he touched and all were blessed to have known him.

In lieu of flowers, please considering donating to the Timmy Linker Scholarship fund through the St. Andrews Parks and Playground.
