Theresa A Luhrs

Mary Theresa Anderson Luhrs, 83, died Monday, January 14, 2013, after a long illness. She was born on April 1, 1929, a daughter of Arthur E. Anderson and Mary Alma Bean Anderson. Theresa was the loving and devoted wife to Harry John Luhrs, Jr. and a wonderful mother to her four children whom she loved dearly, Diane, Gene, David and Nancy. She was extremely proud of and adored her granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie, who was the light of her life. Theresa grew up on St. Margaret Street in downtown Charleston. She attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Bishop England High School where she was a cheerleader. Theresa was a charter member of Nativity Catholic Church and was very popular among her many friends. Theresa was the oldest of four children and had three younger brothers, Gene, Bernard and James Anderson. She was a beautiful woman both inside and out and will be missed dearly. Theresa is survived by her son, David Michael Luhrs; her daughter, Nancy Wolf; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Marie Wolf and Shannon Marie Smith; her brother, James P. Anderson and his wife, Carolyn; sisters-in law, Sylvia Lantz, Gerda Anderson, Mary Luhrs and Dorothy Luhrs; her daughters-in-law, Dr. Terri Luhrs and Dr. Theresa Luhrs and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry; her son, Harry Eugene Luhrs and her daughter, Theresa Diane Luhrs. The relatives and friends of Theresa A. Luhrs are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Nativity Catholic Church, 1061 Folly Road. The Rite of Committal will immediately follow at Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends this Friday evening between 5:00 and 7:00PM at the JAMES A.
