Suzanne Ward Fernau

Suzanne Ward Fernau, 63, wife of Joseph L. Fleming, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 16, 2016. The relatives and friends of Suzanne Ward Fernau are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 4:30 and 6:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Suzanne was born February 25, 1953 in Pinehurst, NC, a daughter of Mary Garnier and John William Ward. She was raised in Charleston, where she graduated from Cathedral Day School and Bishop England High School, Class of 1971. She also attended the College of Charleston. Suzanne worked for twenty years at Roumillat's Antiques and Auctions. Prior to that she worked at her family's business, The Charleston Antique Fair. Suzanne loved raising and showing her Field Spaniels. Her beloved Jackee was a grand champion. Suzanne was a past member of the Middleton Hunt Club. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary G. and John W. Ward, her brother, J.W. Ward III and her first husband, George C.L. Fernau. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Fleming of Johns Island, her sister, Joanie Ward Paulling (Richard) of Folly Beach and 5 cousins.
