Susan Marie Flade

Mrs. Susan M. Flade passed away Monday, August 22, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Susan M. Flade are invited to attend her funeral service at 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 PM until the time of service. Susan was born November 14, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to Raymond and Elizabeth Fritts. Beside her parents, Susan was predeceased by her brother, Raymond C. Fritts and infant grandson, Michael L. Todd. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Louis F. Flade of Johns Island, SC and two sons Louis Flade, Jr. of Johns Island, SC, Kenneth Flade and his wife, Maryjo, of Maryland; three daughters, Susan Shubert and her husband, Eugene, of Johns Island, SC, Nancy Parsons and her husband, Roger, of CT, and Michelle Todd of CT. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Christopher Flade, Joshua Flade, Becky Flade, Kenneth Flade, Nicholas Flade, Christopher T. Flade, Gene Shubert, Erica Miller, Elise Page, Roger Parsons, Jared Parsons, Holly Brothers, Kevin Todd, Jacob Todd, and Zachary Todd. Great-grandchildren include Casey Flade, Morgan McGeehan, Christopher Flade, Jr., Joshua Miller, Logan Miller, Charlotte Flade, Elias Flade, Jakob DonBrosky, and Hannah Parsons. Susan was a dedicated community volunteer and retired as a much loved home health, hospice and hospital systems employee. Her family would like to express their deep appreciation to the employees of Amedisys Hospice Services with additional admiration for Chaplain James Sanders and Jennifer Gump, RN.
