Stella Marie Bornstein Grady, 93, of Charleston, widow of Harry Elkins Grady, Sr., died Thursday, July 16, 2015. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Stella B. Grady are invited to attend her Graveside Service, 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Stella was born in Charleston on May 20, 1922, the daughter of Francis Walker and Stella Agnes Bornstein. She attended James Simmons Elementary, graduated from Bishop England High School and attended business courses at Murray Vocational. Stella worked many years at Bay Drugs for Dr. Peter Botzis. She also worked several years at Chalmers Optometry and she had over 1,000 hours of volunteer work at Baker Hospital. Stella was in Nurses training at St. Francis Hospital when she met the love of her life, Harry Elkins Grady, Sr. They had 56 wonderful years together before his death in 1996. Her most valuable service was as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Stella is survived by three daughters, Harriett Grady of West Ashley, Debra Franklin (Dixie) Roberts (Colonel Jim, USAF retired) of Summerville, and Cynthia Louise Nigels (Scott) of West Ashley; a wonderful daughter-in-law, Diane Bradley Grady Connelly (Robert) of Hollywood/Meggett; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceeding her in death are her husband; two sons, Harry Elkins Grady, Jr. (Dianne) and Patrick Allen Grady.
