Shirley Marquez

Shirley Ann Marquez, 71, of Charleston wife of Ignacio Marquez, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at her home. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ignacio Marquez are invited to attend her Graveside Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 19, 2012, St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Friday before the funeral at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Shirley was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 27, 1941, a daughter of Robert and Vivienne Cooper. She was a home maker, loved crafts and had many pen pals. She is survived by her husband, son Calvin Blackwood and his family; brothers, Roy, Arthur and Bobby Cooper; sister, Ellen Campbell and her husband Kim; nieces Barbara Stesske and her husband Carl and Karen Belcher and her husband Ray, as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
