Sharon Driggers Walsh

Sharon Driggers Walsh, 50, of Charleston, SC, the wife of Michael Brian Walsh, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 5, 2011. She was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Patricia Brinson Driggers and the late Theodore Elias Driggers, Sr, on Wednesday, May 11, 1960. Mrs. Walsh was a graduate of Middleton High School, where she was voted most athletic her senior year, and Winthrop College, where she was a member of the volleyball team. She was the Physical Education Teacher at Blessed Sacrament School and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Walsh had a passion for teaching physical education and helping teach swimming at the Northbridge Terrace Pool. Her students meant the world to her. She will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving person. The caretaker of her family, she always enjoyed the conversations with the older members of her family; always watching over them like the angels she collected. Mrs. Walsh is survived by her loving husband, Michael B.Walsh; her son, Benjamin M. Walsh; a sister, Susan B. Harris; a brother, Teddy E. Driggers, Jr. and several in laws, nieces and nephews. The relatives and friends of Sharon D. Walsh are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Vigil Service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament School 7 St.Teresa Dr. Charleston, SC 29407. Arrangements are by the JAMES A. MCALISTER FUNERAL HOME, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
