Sharon Mccabe

Charleston - Sharon McCabe, 64, of Charleston, retired critical care nurse of 41 years died peacefully in her sleep at Saint Francis Hospital on Sunday, June 17, 2012. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 17, 1947, the daughter of Farrell and Dorothy Saunders McCabe. She graduated from Bishop England High School in 1965 and Spartanburg General Hospital Nursing School in 1968. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi (Epsilon Master chapter) and a 1989 Beta Sigma Phi Alpha Omega Award Winner. She is survived by her sisters Maureen Parker of Fallbrook, CA and Alicia McCabe of Pinehill, NM, her brothers Farrell McCabe Jr. (Amy) of North Charleston, Peter McCabe of Pinehill, NM, Mark McCabe (Rose) of St. Marys, GA, and David McCabe of Charleston, 6 nephews, 2 nieces, 3 grand nephews, 3 grand nieces, and many cousins. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.
