Sarah Moody Jenkins

Sarah Moody Jenkins, 80, widow of Robert Arthur Jenkins, died November 5, 2017, at her residence. The relatives and friends of Sarah M. Jenkins are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the graveside, Old St. Andrew's Episcopal Churchyard, 2604 Ashley River Rd. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Sarah was raised on Yonges Island , SC the daughter of Arthur Robert Moody and Shelldonia Grayson Moody. She graduated from Mount Mercy Junior College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Returning back to South Carolina, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Arthur Jenkins (Bobby) and worked with him at the family business, Micah Jenkins Nursery. In later years, she also enjoyed working as an exercise instructor at a small company named Fit 2 Bee. Sarah remained active and productive well past the typical age of retirement, being especially known and appreciated for her hard work and dedication to The Preservation Society of Charleston Book and Gift Shop, working as the manager for a number of years . She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.Sarah was predeceased by her husband, Bobby, in 2010. Surviving are four children, Robert (Joanne) Jenkins Jr., Jeannean (Lee Frank) Jenkins, both of Edisto Island, Walter Jenkins, and Joey (Nancy) Jenkins, both of Charleston and four grandchildren.
