It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Santo J. Convertino, Jr., beloved father, son, and cherished friend, who left us peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 98. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Cryptside Service 10:00 AM Friday, June 20, 2025 from the Mausoleum of Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston.
Born on October 3, 1926, in Charleston, SC, Santo was a proud son of this vibrant city, which remained his home throughout his life.
Santo was a man of many talents and interests. As the owner of his own dry cleaning business, he exemplified what it meant to work hard and succeed at whatever he set his mind to. His quick wit and creativity were evident not only in his professional life, but also in his many home remodeling projects. A skillful carpenter at heart, Santo had an eye for design and a knack for transforming spaces into beautiful havens.
In his free time, Santo enjoyed indulging in his passion for racing homing pigeons, an activity that brought him joy and a sense of adventure. He was also known for his love of playing pool, where his competitive spirit always shone through.
But above all, Santo was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving daughter, Dr. Giannina Convertino, and his sons, Sammy Convertino and Carmen Convertino. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Krissa Convertino and Michael Convertino. The love he had for his family was immeasurable, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
The family wishes to extend deepest gratitude to Debbie Anderson, his devoted caregiver these past several months.
In this time of reflection, let us honor a remarkable man whose laughter, kindness, and creativity will live on in our hearts and memories. Santo's legacy is one of love, hard work, and a zest for life that we will carry with us always.
Santo was preceded in death by his parents, and his late wife Betty Grey Convertino, and his son Angelo Convertino.
