She grew up on Maple Street, attended Charleston schools and graduated from Murray High School. Shortly after graduation, she met her lifelong love, Robert E ("Bobby") Molony. They were married in Charleston on June 27, 1941. That was the beginning of a true love story that spanned seven decades. She was blessed with seven children and a deep and enduring lifelong partnership together. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Boston, where Bobby was stationed in the US Navy during World War II. After his tour of duty, they moved back to Charleston in 1944 and lived on Weaver Street near her childhood home. As the family grew, they moved to West Ashley and were one of the first families to reside in South Windermere. Thereafter, they split their time between the Isle of Palms and their family home in downtown Charleston. Mrs. Molony was a founder and a lifelong member of the South Windermere Garden Club . She remained close to her Garden Club girls and her many friends until her death. She was also a founder and lifelong member of the Quis Qui Club. She loved bridge, gardening and was active in many civic organizations. She was a fabulous cook and was especially known for her favorite lowcountry dishes and Christmas cookies. Her entire life was devoted to her husband, her children and her Church. She steadfastly supported her husband through a successful business and civic career, always putting her family first. She was constantly by his side supporting a marriage that brought them much happiness and success. She was a loving, dedicated and tireless mother to her seven children. She was generous with her time, volunteering at Blessed Sacrament and Bishop England High School while her children attended school there. In later years, she was equally generous and loving to her grand and great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. She was an original parishioner at Blessed Sacrament, frequented Mass at Stella Maris and was a longtime member of St. Mary's. She loved angels, especially those that flanked the altar at St. Mary's. She and Bobby were faithful participants and often opened the Church to lead the weekly Rosary. Mrs. Molony was predeceased by her Husband of seventy two years, Robert Emmet Molony, her sisters, Marie Brown, Vionne Roberts and a brother, Robert Brown. She is survived by her seven children, Bobbie Marie Fulmer (Richard), Daniel Robert Molony (Susie), Michael Alan Molony (Sha), Cynthia Molony Masters (Ernie), John Herring Molony (Paula), Steven Gerard Molony (Jamie) and Mary Beth Bunch (Mark). She was graced in life with twenty one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. The love story was interrupted last year with the passing of her husband. It now resumes as she rejoins him at the Gates of Heaven to celebrate their love in eternity. The Family expresses their deep appreciation for the wonderful care Vanessa, Sheila and Andrea have given to both parents over the past two years, as well as Odyssey Hospice. Memorials may be sent to St. Mary's, Stella Maris (PO Box 280, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482), Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston, SC 29407) or Bishop England High School.
