Roy Anthony Ross

Roy Anthony Ross, 64, of Charleston, SC, husband of Anne S. Ross, entered into eternal rest Friday, February 24, 2023 after losing a hard-fought battle against various types of cancer.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Nativity Catholic Church, 1061 Folly Road, James Island. The Rite of Committal will take place at a later date at St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Roy was born in Charleston, South Carolina on July 14, 1958. He was the second child of Mary Jo and Floyd Ross. He was the owner of Buff'n Coat Hardwood Floors and took great pride in his work. Roy enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1967 Firebird, and shooting pool at Terry's and the Sand Dollar.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, Floyd, his aunt, Ann, and his sister-in-law, Jean. In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is also survived by his daughter, Riley; his dog, Maggie; his mother, Mary Jo; his siblings, Marcia, John, Lizann, George (Robin), Clare (Joe), Paula (Gary), Song (Ashley), and Stella; his siblings-in-law, Beth, Mark, James (Susan), and Joyce (Tom); his twenty-five nieces and nephews, Timothy (Melissa), Mary, Laura, Willy (Brittany), Betty Ann, Marina (Austin), Trevor (Nicole), Josh, Lauren, Erin, Joseph, Kevin, Matthew, Atlas, Forest, Chaz, Kyle, Jake, Delaney, Caileigh, and Charlie; and his five great-nieces and nephews, Dustin, Allyson, Allison, Alena, and Crystal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
