Rosemary McAlevy McNamara; wife of Doran Terry McNamara, passed away in the arms of her beloved husband on April 17, 2012. The relatives and friends of Rosemary McAlevy McNamara are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 20, 2012 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, on Thursday at the funeral home. Rosemary was born on December 1, 1940, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, a daughter of Joseph and Anna McAlevy. She attended Sacred Heart school and spent 7 years with the Sisters of Saint Joseph in Holyoke, Massachusetts. After leaving the order in 1965, she married Terry in March of 1966 and was by his side throughout his Naval Career while raising three wonderful daughters. Rosemary taught at Blessed Sacrament School, Cathedral School and Sacred Heart School. She is survived by her loving and devoted family: Doran T. (Terry) McNamara, Krista Groover (Chuck) of James Island, Angella Oliver (Ronald) of Center Point, Iowa, Veronica Mack and fiancé Gordon Horne of Charleston; grandchildren, Michaela Clare McAlevy McNamara of James Island, Marcus Anthony Mack of Alpharetta Georgia, Cassie Meredith Oliver of Center Point Iowa, Ryan Nicholas Oliver of Center Point Iowa, Johnathan Ashley Groover of James Island, Noah Benjamin Mack of Coral Beach Florida, a step grandson, Kyle Ian Mack of Atlanta Georgia. She was preceded in death by her setep granddaugher, Tianna Christina Mack. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers from Amedisys Hospice; Angela Ward, Jim Sanders, Hannah Buzhardt and Dian Robertson.
