Rosemarie Diane Rast

Rosemarie Robinson Rast, 52, died on the morning of Friday, March 9th, 2012 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Her family and close friends were by her side in her hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Rosemarie "Rosie" was born in Charleston, SC, a daughter of Michael Craig Robinson and Mary Ellen Robinson. Rosie worked in Mt. Pleasant as a cosmetologist and attended Crosstowne Christian Church. She had many strong relationships, three of which were special: her son, Malcolm David Rast, her devoted boyfriend, Jeff Smith, and best friend, Diane Anglin. She was always known for her soft and warm social demeanor including her strong independence as a mother and giving attitude towards people in need. We will never forget you, Rosie. Surviving are her son, Malcolm David Rast; mother, Mary Ellen Robinson; father, Michael Craig Robinson; sister, Theresa Robinson Sells; brother, Michael Craig Robinson, Jr, sister-in-law, Terri Ann Robinson; nephews Shane Michael and Colin Matthew Robinson; boyfriend, Jeff Smith; best friend, Diane Anglin; and many relatives from Europe. Funeral service will be held at Trinity Bible Church, 3589 Mary Ader Drive, Charleston, SC 29414 on Monday, March 12 at 3PM with visitation prior to the service from 1:00-3:00. Burial immediately following at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414. Her funeral will be directed by James A. McAlister Funeral Home.
