Ronald was born in Charleston on February 2, 1957, a son of Betty Jean Johnston Knight and the late Jennings Bryan Knight. Ronald is survived by his Mother, Betty J. Knight; his sister, Gail K. Ferri and her husband, Paul, and his nieces and nephews, Allison M. Ferri, Brian P. Ferri and Kelly N. Ferri.
