Robert John Tezza

Robert John "Bobby" Tezza, 83, husband of Marilyn Buero Tezza of Charleston, SC died April 3, 2015. The relatives and friends of Robert and Marilyn Tezza are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 & 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. The Rosary will be recited at 6:45 PM. Bobby was born on July 8, 1931 in Charleston, SC the son of Hugo B. Tezza and Camilla S. Tezza. He graduated from Bishop England High School. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. After completing his service in the Marines in November 1952, he joined the family business, H. Tezza, Inc. He worked there for the next 60 years. He was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and was involved in Perpetual Adoration and activities related to preparation for all Liturgical Services. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Buero Tezza; six sons - - Robert J. and Catherine Tezza, David A. and Chin Hui "Ginny" Tezza, Donald G. and Lynn Tezza, Mark J. and Nancy Tezza, Richard R. Tezza, and Bryant A. Tezza and Viki Fox; fourteen grandchildren - - Elizabeth T. "Beth" and Kristopher Ancone, Mary T. "Katie" and Ashley Hiott, Vyonne T. and Elizabeth Garrett, Timothy D. "Timmy" Tezza, Robert A. "Bobby" Tezza, Daniel G. Tezza, David A. Tezza, Matthew O. "Matt" Tezza, Nicholas M. "Nick" Tezza, Andrew M. Tezza, Renee and Tony Webster, Rosemary "Rosie" Tezza and Robert Taylor, David L. Tezza, Sarah Margret T. and Robert Arnold; six great-grandchildren - - Kristopher Joseph "KJ" Ancone, Kaylee E. Ancone, Sylvia C. Hiott, Stella R. Hiott, Hailey M. Webster and Calix A. Taylor; five brothers and sisters - - Joseph M. "Joe" Tezza, Peter J. Tezza, Elizabeth Tezza Carpenter, Mary Jane Tezza and Virginia M. "Ginger" Tezza. We the living pray that he and his predeceased father Hugo B. Tezza, mother Camilla S. Tezza and two brothers - - Mark J. "Mickey" Tezza and Hugo J. "Buddy" Tezza will be there to greet us at our hours of death and that he will live in the glory of God's eternal promise. The entire family thanks everyone who remembers him in their thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorial contributions be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Council of the United States, 58 Progress Parkway Maryland Heights, MO 63043-3706 or the Blessed Sacrament Building Fund.
