Robert Gerald Snyder

Robert G. Snyder Jr., 61, of Cottageville, SC passed away Saturday,  August 28, 2021. The relatives and friends of Robert G. 'Yogi' Snyder, Jr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Miles Road Baptist Church, 816 Miles Jamison Road, Summerville.

Yogi, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was born March 16, 1960, in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert “Jerry” and Rita (Gregory) Snyder. He graduated from Lewis County High School in Weston, WV. He served for four years in the United States Air Force. After returning home, he helped operate family businesses in and around Weston, WV before serving as a deputy at the Lewis County Sheriff's Department. He then worked for the Charleston Police Department in Charleston, SC from 1987-1994. Since then, he has also worked for Bayer, Asi Kasi, Nexans and Strand Tech. Most recently he worked for Dorchester District Two as a custodian.

Yogi enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but he especially loved being with his dogs: Shed, Lexie, and Maggie. He was the best storyteller and had a great sense of humor. He was the person to call in a crisis, but he was jovial and full of life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his daughter; Kayla Snyder of Summerville; Friend, Tonya Conley of Summerville; Brothers-in-law Tim White and Jim Wyatt of Summerville; Nieces Kim (Vince) Baldwin of Summerville and Deanna McDonald of Mt. Pleasant; his nephew TJ (Kailey) White of Summerville; as well great-nephews and nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Rosemary Wyatt and Carla White.
