Robert Donald McLoud, 73, of Boynton Beach, FL, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, of pancreatic cancer. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. McLoud are invited to attend his Funeral Services at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at St. Johns Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Highway Johns Island, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bob was born March 25, 1942, in Burlington, NC, to James Thad and LeNell McLoud. After growing up in Burlington, Bob graduated from Clemson University in 1966. He went to work for Westinghouse Electric in Hampton, SC, as an electrical engineer. He later became a salesman for Container Corporation of America, first working in Winston-Salem, NC, and later transferring to Gastonia, NC. He switched careers in the 1970s to establish one of the first Century 21 offices in North Carolina. He later started a residential construction business. In the mid-1980s, he sold the construction business in Gastonia and moved to Kiawah Island, SC, where he started another residential construction company. He also opened a San Juan Pool franchise in Charleston, SC, that became the company's largest dealership in the Southeast. He sold the business 15 years ago, retired on Seabrook Island, SC, and later moved to Boynton Beach, Fla, with his wife, Catherine Cameron McLoud. Bob is survived by children Robert Donald and Diana McLoud Jr. of Hilton Head Island, SC; James Lee and Ashley McLoud of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Anne McLoud Crenshaw of James Island, SC; David Davis and Julie Song Smyth III of Raleigh, NC; Tyler Armistead and Michelle Smyth of Charleston, SC; and William Saunders Cooper of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Austin and William McLoud, Eleanor, Murray and Watson McLoud, Price and Maggie Crenshaw, Caroline, Frances and Martha Smyth and Samuel and Curry Smyth, as well as two of his three siblings, James Thad McLoud Jr. of Richmond, TX, and Carolyn McLoud Thomas of Cary, NC. and also his longtime friend Rosetta Bligen of John's Island, SC. He was predeceased by wife Caroline Martin McLoud of Seabrook Island, SC.
