Richard Lee Vanderlan

Richard Lee Vanderlan, 82, husband of Barbara, father of two and grandfather of four, has departed for a much finer place and our prayers are with him. Born August 15th, 1929 in Bristow, Iowa, he served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as an E8 Storekeeper. Preceded in death by his parents William and Jennie, two brothers Dale and Vernon and has two surviving brothers Don and Wayne. He will be missed by all, and those who knew him best will always remember him fondly. Godspeed. He is also survived by his wife, Barbara Louise Collins Vanderlan, a daughter, Michelle Rae Beckham, a son, Burt Alan Vanderlan and four grandchildren, Patrick L. Tallent, Tracy Gibson, Levi Tallent and Natalia Vanderlan. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Vanderlan are invited to attend his graveside funeral service at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Beaufort National Cemetery.
