RICHARD JOSEPH (CHIP) DOLAN, JR. CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 21, 2010 Richard Joseph "Chip" Dolan, Jr. Chip was born in Charleston, South Carolina May 27, 1945. He graduated from Camden Military Academy and attended The University of South Carolina. Chip served in Vietnam with the U. S. Marine Corps. In the late 60's he was a staff sports writer with the News and Courier. He was Roman Catholic. He is predeceased by his parents, Nancy Howell Dolan and Richard Joseph Dolan Sr.; a niece and nephew, Amy Segrest and Chuck Dolan Jr. He leaves behind a sister, Betty Dolan Segrest, a brother-in-law, Bubba; a brother, Charles D. Dolan Sr.; a sister-in-law, Pam and a brother, Clay Michael Dolan, two nieces, a nephew, and six grand nieces and nephews. Chip was a resident of Driftwood Nursing Center in Charleston where he received professional and loving care for many years. The Rite of Committal was held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Graveside, Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Windwood Farm for Boys, 4857 Windwood Farm Rd., Awendaw, SC 29429-5951. Arrangements by James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
