Renée K. Kadlecik

Renée Kassis Kadlecik, 91, of Charleston, widow of the late Paul Kadlecik, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her home in West Ashley surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd., Charleston. A Rosary will precede the service, beginning at 1:00 PM, and the Rite of Committal will follow the Mass in the churchyard Columbarium. The family will greet friends in the Family Life Center during a Reception following the interment.

Born in Zahle, Lebanon on November 25, 1933 to the late Aziz and Zakia Shahid Kassis, Mrs. Kadlecik spent 72 years in Charleston. She started working with her brother-in-law as an assistant at the Carlton Arms apartments and then joined her brothers at the Kassis Brothers Shoe Store where she worked for many decades as their administrator. Mrs. Kadelecik was extremely devoted to her family. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was also an avid baker - her pound cake was second to none.

Mrs. Kadlecik was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, her sisters Rose Haddad and Yvonne Shahid, and her brothers John Kassis and Fred Kassis. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Kassis (Becky), two sisters-in-law (Nouha Kassis and Joanne Kassis), 14 nieces and nephews, and numerous family members. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mrs. Marie Washington and Agape Hospice for their assistance in caring for Mrs. Kadlecik during her latter years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital .
