Renate Eleanor Luzier

Renate Eleanor Luzier, 81, a homemaker and widow of Glenn Alvin Luzier, Jr., entered into eternal life Monday, October 12, 2015. The relatives and friends of Renate Eleanor Luzier are invited to attend her Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday, October 16, 2015, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. The Committal will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 PM Friday. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 PM Thursday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. A native of Heilbronn, Germany, Mrs. Luzier was born June 10, 1934, a daughter of the late Karoline Eisenmann and Gustav Schellenberger. With her husband, Mrs. Luzier helped run two successful businesses, both in Tampa, Florida and in North Charleston. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, fishing, crabbing, and boating, but she is perhaps most remembered for her wonderful cooking. Her motto was always, 'If you go hungry here, it's your own fault!' Renate loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. A loving wife, mother, and Oma, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Renate is survived by her 3 children: Bruce Luzier, Gwen Luzier, and Charles Luzier (Kerma); 12 Grandchildren: Alicia, Melissa, Juston (J.T.), Eric, Holly, Kyle, Richard, Ashley, Brian, Caroline, Rebecca, Marian; 8 Great-grandchildren: Emily, Madison, Grady, Lucas, Drake, Kaylin, Weston, Emory; and her brothers and sisters: Waltraud Zniearko, Margrete Siegelie, Friederich Schellenberger, Elisabet Siegelie, Hildegard Bostick. Mrs. Luzier was preceded in death by her eldest son, Alvin G. Luzier, and her brothers Gustav and Karl.
