Charleston, SC - Mr. Ralph Anthony Russo, 89, widower of Edith Jean (Smith) Russo, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 14, 2015. The relatives and friends of Ralph A. Russo are invited to attend his Funeral Service 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Entombment will follow at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Hwy. 61. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between 6:00 & 8:00 PM Monday evening. A native of Chicago, IL, Mr. Russo was the son of the late Jesus and Clara Bilke Russo. Ralph served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later during the Korean conflict. Retiring from the Navy in 1973 after serving 27 years, he entered the Department of Defense in the Criminal Investigative Division, from which he retired as Detective Sergeant and Command Investigator. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Russo is survived by his daughter Stacy Russo of Charleston, 3 sons: Robert Russo of Maurepas, LA, Guy Russo of Summerville, SC, and Brett Russo of Amarillo, TX; 9 Grandchildren, & 18 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Scarlett Russo and April Russo.
