The relatives and friends of Philip A. "Bugsy" Chevrier, Jr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the James A. McAlister Chapel. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this Friday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. at the funeral home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. There will be a paddle out service at 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the Folly Beach Pier. Bugsy was born in Charleston on Thursday, November 16, 1950, a son of Philip Arnold and Barbara Kennedy Chevrier. He graduated from St. Andrew's High School and attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. An inspirational artist, true outdoors man, loving father, devoted brother and son. He walked along his own path in life. His friends will cherish his free spirit. He was an innovator of surfing culture, Avid traveler who's journeys carried him along the east coast and Woodstock. He created jewelry and carving that will remind all of us of his immense talent. For those lucky enough to know him, will never forget the way he touched each person in his own way. He is survived by a son: Philip Anthony Chevrier; his parents: Philip and Barbara Chevrier; his brothers: Bobby Chevrier and Chris Chevrier and his wife, Genie; his niece: Bethany Chevrier and an aunt: Virginia C.
