Pernice Langford Lamb, 93, widow of Nolan Eugene Lamb passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017.The relatives and friends of Pernice L. Lamb are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. The burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road. The family will receive friends Monday evening between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Pernice was born on May 8, 1924 in Cossawhatchie, SC, a daughter of the late Ernest and Telie Langford. She left home in 1942 to live with her sister, Irene in Charleston and to support the war effort making hand grenades in a munitions factory. It was in Charleston a few years later where she met a handsome sailor, Nolan Lamb, who she later married. She was one of the first female commission sales associates at the flagship Charleston Sears location on Calhoun Street, and retired after over thirty years. She was an avid puzzle fan and loved collecting antiques, attending auctions, traveling, and quilting. She raised three children, helped raise six grandchildren, and was able to enjoy her six great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the Ashley River Baptist Church, while she was able to attend, and regularly received members from her church at her home.Pernice is survived by her sister, Irene L. Hendrickson and her husband, James Van Hendrickson; brother, Col. Ollie Legree Langford, Ret. and his wife, Diane Ann Langford. Her daughter, Gail Lamb Brinson; and son, Guy Nolan Lamb.She was predeceased by her husband, Nolan Eugene Lamb, and son, Tyrone Wendell Lamb.
