Peggy Ann Dean, 88, of Charleston, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Hospice of Charleston, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Peggy Ann Dean are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM Friday, February 20, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be 3:00 PM Friday at the Ridgeland Cemetery, Ridgeland, South Carolina. Peggy was born in Ridgeland, South Carolina on August 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Percy Benjamin and Edna Eibs Dean. Upon graduation from St. Angela's Academy in Aiken, South Carolina, Peggy entered the religious community of The Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy and was given the name Sister Rosaire. Continuing her education she entered the University of Notre Dame and upon completion Sister Rosaire returned to Charleston to begin teaching at The Cathedral School. She was promoted to and will be remembered as an outstanding principal of the school. Sister Rosaire enjoyed her students and to this day kept in contact with many of them. She went on to teach at Bishop England High School when Fr. Robert Kelly was the principal. Peggy left the convent in 1966 and enjoyed a career with the South Carolina Department of Social Services. She retired after 19 years of faithful service. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, woodworking and living a full life. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, A. Norris Dean. She is survived by her sister Evelyn (Hinky) Dean Adams of Greenwood, SC, several loving nieces and nephews and good friend Jacquie Kennedy.
