Paula F. Patterson, 62, passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston. She was born on May 2, 1955 in North Smithfield, RI, to Herbert and Dorothy Ross. She was a graduate of J.L. Mann H.S. in Greenville, SC. Paula also attended the University of S.C. in Columbia. She married Mike Patterson on November 8, 1974. Instead of becoming a Librarian, she chose to devote herself to being a stay at home mom and wife. She cared deeply for her family , husband, and friends and always put them first. After her children were older, she started her own cleaning company to help fund leisure activities and vacations. She enjoyed reading, music, sewing and was a wonderful cook, but she loved being on the water boating most of all. She'd grin with pride when she proved that she could operate a boat as well as anyone. Paula was a true Parrot Head an loved listening to Jimmy Buffet's music. One of her favorites was 'Mother Ocean'. With boat in tow, she loved cruising around places like the Outer Banks, Cedar Key and above all the Florida Keys. During a visit to the Kew West Cemetery, her favorite inscription was 'I Told You I Was Sick'.She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband, children, Holly (Eugene) Woodall, Emily Silva, Michael Patterson, Jr. and grandchildren, Amber Patterson and Dalton Woodall. James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway provided the cremation services. A remembrance celebration with immediate family and close friends will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
