Paul David Delpit

Paul David Delpit, 66, entered into eternal rest Monday, March 13, 2023 in Charleston, SC.

Paul's Graveside Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Holy Cross Cemetery (604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC). The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday Evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home (1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC).

Paul was born April 13, 1956, a son of John Earl Delpit and Dorothy Rose Delpit (Bohnhoff) in
Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated from Middleton High School (Charleston, SC) in 1974. On May 25, 1986, Paul would marry the love of his life Catherine Ann Delpit, with whom he would have two daughters, Katrina Delpit Bland and Kayla Rose Delpit.

Paul spent the majority of his professional career as a machinist with Cummins Engines and as a paint contractor, however his favorite job was always being an amazing father and husband. In addition to the time spent with his loving family, he also had a passion for the LSU Tigers, and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Paul really enjoyed his time spent working at the Harley shop with his friends on Saturdays, and cooking his famous cajun dishes. A very warm and out-going spirit, he was always dancing, and was regularly the life of the party.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, John Earl and Dorothy Rose Delpit, and his sister Mary Delpit.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Delpit; daughters Katrina Delpit Bland (Logan), and Kayla Rose Delpit; granddaughter Madison Louise Bland; sisters Dianne Hayward and Beverly Tankersley (Jack); and brothers John Delpit (Christine) and Steve Delpit (Jeanne). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
