Patricia Ann Neary Le Blanc, CHARLESTON - Patricia Le Blanc entered into eternal rest on the evening of July, 5 2012. She was much loved by her family and friends and was a favorite resident at Ashley River Plantation where she brightened everyone's day. Patricia was born on December 12, 1935 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of the late Kathryn and Michael Neary. Patricia and her family relocated in 1946 to New Orleans, LA where she later graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1953. She went on to complete coursework at Soule's Business School and was employed by Union Oil & Gas Corporation of Louisiana Land Department. She worked there for four years before marrying Joseph F. Le Blanc, Jr. on June 22, 1958. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this June. As a navy wife, Patricia and her husband travelled the country for 22 years raising their six children. The growing family lived in Georgia, on the Island of Saipan, California, Virginia, before settling in Charleston, South Carolina. Throughout her life, Patricia was dedicated to various charities and volunteer work including the Navy Hospital, the Navy Wives' Club, the Red Cross, the Triple B Club at Bishop England High School, and the Neighborhood House. She also loved to read, was very passionate about teaching adult literacy classes and was a regular lector at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Patricia was devoted to her parish and her faith. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, taking Communion to residents of local nursing homes for many years. Mrs. Patricia Le Blanc is predeceased by her daughter Susan Le Blanc. She is survived by her husband, Retired U.S. Navy Commander Joseph F. Le Blanc, Jr.; her son David J. Le Blanc, Sr.and his wife Regina Droze Le Blanc; her daughter Dianne Le Blanc Wade; her son Steven R. Le Blanc and his wife Kelly Ball Le Blanc; her daughter Deborah and her husband Gerald McCully; and her daughter Francine and her husband Brendan Barry. Grandma Patricia Le Blanc is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: David and Katelyn Le Blanc; Sarah Wade Walter, Joseph and Benjamin Wade; Sydney Le Blanc; Meghan McCully; Karah, Erin, Ryan Barry and Baby Barry is expected in September. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Le Blanc, Jr. are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Monday, July 9, 2012, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1695 Wallenberg Blvd. on Sunday between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM.
