Pablo Luis Nieto, 92, widower of Casilda Ortiz Nieto, entered into eternal rest January 01, 2016. The relatives and friends of Pablo Luis Nieto are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Born December 2, 1923 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Paquita Reveria and Juan Nieto. Mr. Nieto moved to the United States with his family in 1954, and eventually settled in South Carolina, where he worked as a Civil Engineer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, ultimately retiring at the time of the base closure, having served for over 40 years. A devout Roman Catholic, Pablo and his family were members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and had been parishioners for nearly 50 years. A loving and generous man, Pablo would do absolutely anything for his family. Mr. Nieto is survived by 5 children: Pablo Nieto Jr., Frances Smoak, Lorraine Munnings (Greg), Arlene Nieto, and Charles Nieto; 7 Grandchildren: Guinevere, Elizabeth, Anne, Margarita, Amy, Gregory, and Christopher; and 7 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 children, Patria Nieto and Gerard Nieto. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Adoration Chapel.
