On the evening of July 10, 2013, the beloved Nathalie "Betty" Rumph entered into eternal rest at her James Island home. Betty was a born Charlestonian; she attended Bishop England High School, married her teenage sweetheart, Harry and devoted her life to her five children and her Christian faith. Her home and yard were immaculately maintained, welcoming to all who entered, filled with frequent family gatherings and wonderful meals. Betty was a perfect example of love as in 1 Corinthians. She was patient and kind, not envious, boastful or proud, not self-seeking, always protecting, trusting, hoping and preserving. She modeled faith, hope and love. Betty was predeceased and dearly loved by her husband of 64 years, Harry L. Rumph, Jr. in 2011; her first child, Harry L. Rumph III in 1990 and her fourth child, Brenda R. Kinard in 2013. Betty will forever be missed by her surviving family Cheryl Rollins and husband, Harry; Darlene Joye; Suzanne Bean and husband, Miles; son in law, Paul Kinard; daughter in law, Teedo Rumph Hollifield; her 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, all of Charleston. The relatives and friends of Nathalie S. Rumph are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 15, 2013, at The Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, James Island.
