Nancy O'Neal

The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William H. O'Neal, Sr. are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Monday, July 1, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave. , Goose Creek. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends on Sunday between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Nancy was born in Orange, NJ on November 21, 1939 to Dr. Maurice I. Hart and Ann C. Hart. After graduating High School Nancy attended Seaton Hall University where she received a BS in nursing. After working in nursing for several years Nancy attended The Catholic University and received her Master's Degree. She joined the faculty at the University of North Carolina, School of Nursing and went on to become an Assistant Director and later Acting Director of Nursing at The North Carolina Memorial Hospital. I met Nancy at the hospital and we liked each other immediately. After dating for three years we decided to wed and we had a wonderful marriage of forty two years. Her humor, intellect and dedication to all undertakings will be sorely missed. She was without a doubt, my soul mate, my better half. I am honored that she chose me to be her husband. She is survived by her husband, William H. O'Neal, Sr.; her stepchildren: William H. O'Neal, Jr. and Ronald L. O'Neal; her brothers: Maurice I. Hart, Jr. and Joseph T.C. Hart and her step grandchildren: Shea R. O'Neal, Hunter A. O'Neal and Caitlin E. Sauer.
