Mildred Towles

Mildred Katherine Essick Towles, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at her home. Mildred was the daughter of Julie Kraft Essick and Harry Charles Essick. She was born May 9, 1928. Mildred graduated from Memminger High School. She worked for the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a data processor. Mildred is survived by three children: Jay and Cathy Towles, Steven Winfield Towles, Anna Catherine Towles; three granddaughters: Julie Elaine Towles Boland, Julianna Catherine Owens, Katherine Ellen Owens Mills; three great grandchildren: Alex Blum, Ethan Tuttle, Kylianna Payton Kessinger; her sister Jean Essick Bryson and her husband Otis, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is loved and will be missed by many. The relatives and friends of Mildred E. Towles are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. John's Parish Church, John's Island, SC. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 269 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
