Michael Thorp Wall

Michael Thorp Wall, 56, of Charleston passed away on March 29, 2026, from natural causes.

His Funeral Service will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Graveside, Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Ft. Johnson Rd. on James Island.

Michael was born June 2, 1969, in Manchester, New Hampshire, the beloved son of Kathleen Renken and Mark Hedderman Wall.

A proud graduate of the College of Charleston, Michael earned his degree in 1998 and carried the spirit and charm of the Lowcountry with him throughout his life. He was known for his warmth, kindness, sense of humor and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Above all else, Michael treasured being a father to Alex and Julia, who were the center of his life.

Michael also had a deep love for golf and cooking, passions he enjoyed sharing with those around him. His infectious laughter, generous heart and genuine compassion will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Alexander William Wall and Julia Cosgrove Wall; his parents, Kathy and Mark Wall; his sister, Hayden Cosgrove Wall; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hibernian Scholarship Fund, 105 Meeting St. Charleston, SC 20401 in honor of Michael’s memory and legacy.

Michael will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
