Michael Eugene Jacobs

July 28, 1994 — March 22, 2016

Michael Jacobs, 21, of Loris, SC, went to be with Jesus the morning of Tuesday, March 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Michael, 'MJ' or 'Lil' Mike' to all who knew him, fought a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis, and was an inspiration to all. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him, especially his large extended 'family' at MUSC. The relatives and friends of Michael Eugene Jacobs are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Michael will be laid to rest next to his grandmother in Virginia. Michael was born July 28, 1994, in Leesburg, VA. He and his family moved to Loris, SC, in 2009. He considered Charleston his second home, and was well known by many here. His smile lit up a room, and he was especially loved because of his selfless concern for others. He loved superheroes and comic books, hunting, professional wrestling, and was the Washington Redskins' biggest fan. 'Tyke' loved anything outdoors: bonfires, camping out, hunting, riding 4-wheelers and dirt bikes, and had even recently learned to drive a stick shift. From one of his favorite bands, MJ would give a big "shout out to all the Juggalos and Juggalettes". Michael is survived by his parents, Mike and Krissy Rose; Terri Downs, Tammy Vest; his siblings: Jacob, Sydnee, Olivia, Brady, TJ, Harley, Donovan, Samantha, Justin, and Chelsey; his grandparents: Joseph Rose, Melinda Jenkins, Roger Jacobs (Janet); and a host of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish SC Foundation (sc.wish.org), 225 South Pleasantburg Drive, #B8, Greenville, SC 29607. Michael is now home, awaiting a joyous reunion with all who, like he did, have received Christ as their Savior. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me, the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8.
