Megin Patrice Ward passed away on June 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Born on November 28, 1969, Megin lived a vibrant life full of passion, warmth, and dedication to her family and friends.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. A celebration of life reception will directly follow at The Country Club of Charleston, 1 Country Club Drive, Charleston, SC 29412.
Megin is survived by her devoted parents, John T. and Beverly A. Ward; her loving husband, Hank Darby; her stepson Henry Darby (Amber); her mother and father-in-law Harry L. and Nadine B. Darby; her cherished sisters and brothers-in-law: Jim Clayton, Kathy and Robert Olsen, Kimberly and John Falvey, Melissa and Stephen Jackson, Daniel David and Sylvia Darby, and Katherine Ann and Jesse Germain. She was a proud and deeply caring aunt to her nieces and nephews: Michaela Napolitano (Vinny), Courtney Nagrath (Rohan, Nora, and Sophie), Lauren Lopes (Ryan), Nicole Clayton (Chris), John Michael Falvey (Danny), Taylor Falvey, Marshall Jackson (Anna), Timothy Jackson, Hannah Grace Jackson, Darby Foley (Reid), David Germain (Madi), Christopher Germain, Johnny Germain, Isaac Darby, Gabriel Darby, and Josephine Darby. She is preceded in death by her dear sister, Gaylene Clayton, whom she held forever in her heart.
Professionally, Megin found great success working for Cantor Fitzgerald and Ernst and Co. a member of the NYSE in New York, NY, and later at Smith Barney in Charleston, SC. Her intelligence, work ethic, and spirit made a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her.
Megin's heart was as expansive as her joy for life. She was the life of the party, always bringing energy and warmth to any gathering. She had a deep love for the beach, gardening, and quiet moments with her beloved Hank. More than anything, she treasured time with her family-especially her nieces and nephews, whose lives she enriched with unwavering love and support. She was their biggest cheerleader, always encouraging, celebrating, and lifting them up.
Megin's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her laughter, generosity, and boundless love will never be forgotten.
