Meghan Elizabeth Corbett, 19, of Charleston, S.C. died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. Born on April 11, 1991, in Charleston, South Carolina, Meghan was the daughter of Elizabeth (Beth) Corbett Kennerty and the late Michael Carlyle Corbett. She was a 2009 graduate of Bishop England High School who attended Trident Technical College and worked part-time at Applebee's Restaurant. Meghan was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She will always be remembered for her deep and abiding love of family and friends; her infectious smile; her deep concern for those less fortunate; her love of the outdoors, be it hunting, fishing, or just observing nature; her enjoyment of the "Beach House" at Edisto with her cousins and siblings; and her love of animals, especially her rescue dog, Lady, who survives her. Meghan never met a stranger and was fortunate to have so many close friends who will surely miss her zest for life. Meghan is survived by her mother and stepfather, Beth and Larry Kennerty of Charleston; her brother, Matthew C. Corbett; and her sisters Katherine A. (Katie) Corbett and Emily M. Corbett. She is also survived by her grandparents, Alice and Larry Bolchoz, and Joyce and Carlyle Corbett; three uncles, Laurence S. Bolchoz, Jr., Timothy J. Corbett, and John C. Corbett; three aunts, Mary Anne B. ("Anntie") Tucker, Denise C. (Dee) Jiminez, and Cynthia C. (Cindy) Percy; her step-grandmother, Dolores B. Kennerty; two stepsisters, Allison R. Kennerty and Caroline M. Kennerty; and numerous first cousins with whom she had a very special relationship. The relatives and friends of Meghan E. Corbett are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church on Savannah Highway. The Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the N. J. Theos Tuition Assistance Fund at Bishop England High School, 363 Seven Farms Drive, Charleston, S.C. 29492 or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 300 West Coleman Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, S.C. 29464.
