Maud Elizabeth Hesse

Elizabeth C. Hesse, widow of E. Farmer Hesse, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012. Known as Betty, she was born July 22, 1925, the daughter of Henry L. and Alice Hayden Calder. She was a graduate of Bishop England High School, St. Francis School of Nursing and retired as Associate Director of Nursing Service for St. Francis Hospital. Betty is survived by three sons, Eugene F. Hesse, Jr. (Joan), Thomas H. Hesse (Pam) and J. Timothy Hesse (Cindy) as well as a daughter-in- law, Frankie H. Hesse. She was predeceased by her husband Farmer, and son, Joseph E. Hesse. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM this Tuesday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM.
