Mary M. Storen- Mt. Pleasant Mary Frances Maguire Storen died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. She was born in Charleston on January 15, 1919 and was the daughter of Dr. Daniel Lawrence Maguire and Ella Carter Maguire. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis E. Storen and her son, Michael F. Storen. She was a graduate of Ashley Hall School, attended the College of Charleston and graduated from Trinity College in Washington DC. During World War II, she returned to college and received a nursing degree at Bryn Mawr and Johns Hopkins University. She then taught nursing at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston. She is survived by two sons, Louis E. Storen, Jr. (Sallie) and William D. Storen (Susan) and a daughter Mary Louisa Storen (Joseph Boyd); four grandchildren, Michelle S. Burkholder (Travis), William P. Storen, Matthew R. Storen and Jillian Boyd; two great grandchildren, Ella and Sadie Burkholder. She is also survived by a brother, Dr. William F. Maguire. She was predeceased by two brothers, Dr. Daniel L Maguire and Dr. Carter P. Maguire. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday July 5, 2013 at Christ Our King Church, 1122 Russell Dr., Mt. Pleasant. The burial will follow immediately at St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial at Grace Hall on the grounds of Christ Our King Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made on her behalf to the Ladies Benevolent Society, PO Box 21408, Charleston, SC 29413-1408, of which she was a life member. The family wishes to thank her long time caregivers, Picola Forrest, Janie Newman and Mary Baxaszewski.
